- Domestic terrorism with transnational ambitions
-
When does a domestic terrorist group take on transnational ambitions? This document assesses the ‘renewed’ threat of terrorism in Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia. Focusing on the 1997 name change of al-Qa’eda the author addresses the potential consequences for dealing with future threats of terrorism both nationally and internationally. Insight is provided into the spread and impact of extremists originally from the three countries and areas for immediate attention are highlighted.
